This session is for middle years (grades 7, 8, and 9) teachers focused on numeracy assessment. We will
re familiarize ourselves with the district numeracy assessment tool (Carole Fullerton resource) and
process , and plan for whole class tasks in demonstration classrooms in families of schools. We will look at
the structure and process of the numeracy assessment, select a task to try in the classroom with learners,
work on a task ourselves, and think about what is needed to prepare students to approach the assessment
tasks with confidence.
Teachers are encouraged to work in partnerships where possible, and inclusion support teachers are
welcome!
